The clean steam filter protects process equipment and the final product by retaining solid particles, rust and scale fragments and carryover-related contaminants in the steam line. It is used particularly in hygienic applications such as food, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, together with condensate separation, to reach “clean/usable steam” quality.
Operating Principle
As steam passes through the filter element inside the body, particles above the specified micron level are retained on the element. As the differential pressure (ΔP) across the filter element rises, cleaning/replacement of the element is scheduled. Using a good separator and a suitable steam trap upstream of the filter significantly extends element life.
